Why Shaky Knees 2026 Is Atlanta's Can't-Miss Music Weekend

If you're an Atlanta native, you're no stranger to Atlanta's biggest weekend for alternative and indie/rock music: Shaky Knees. From September 18th through the 20th, the Shaky Knees Festival returns to Piedmont Park for another annual weekend, bringing together some of our all-time favorite names in music.

Headlining this year's festival are The Strokes (Friday), Twenty One Pilots (Saturday), and Gorillaz (Sunday). It's safe to say fans are crossing their fingers hoping to hear The Strokes tear through favorites like "Last Nite," "Someday," and "The Adults Are Talking," while Twenty One Pilots could fill Piedmont Park with anthems such as "Ride," "Tear in My Heart”, and "Doubt." To close the weekend, Gorillaz bring a catalog packed with nostalgic tracks, leaving fans eager for classics like "Feel Good Inc." and "On Melancholy Hill."

Beyond the headliners, Shaky Knees 2026 is filled with artists bringing their own signature moments. Artists such as Geese and Fontaines D.C. on Friday will have you holding on ‘til September, because you don’t want to miss Pierce The Veil's set on Saturday. Pavement fans can “Harness Their Hopes” for a set full of classics that helped define indie rock. Elsewhere, the lineup jumps effortlessly between genres. Modest Mouse,  Blood Orange, Peach Pit, Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, Hot Mulligan, Knocked Loose and more will deliver Iconic performances, providing something for every kind of music fan.

Piedmont Park once again becomes the home of alternative music for a weekend. From indie icons and hardcore heavyweights to rising stars ready for their breakout moment, Shaky Knees 2026 promises a weekend that reminds fans why live music is worth chasing.
