Amira Elfeky Announces Debut Album It Was Only a Dream After Sharing New Single “Breakdown”

Amira Elfeky announces her debut full-length album It Was Only a Dream, set to release November 13th 2026. A week prior to the announcement came her latest single “Breakdown,” a track built around the feeling of wanting to make a change but being unable to take that first step. With her velvet-like vocals layered over heavy guitar beats, Elfeky brings a softer edge to the 2000s alternative and nu-metal sounds that have shaped her music, creating a balance between something heavy and something almost delicate.

The single shares that same stability, with a guitar mirroring the frustration in the lyrics while Elfeky’s vocals soften the weight of such a heavy topic. Creating change in your own life is incredibly difficult, and sometimes you don't make that change until you're forced to. “Breakdown” lives in that moment, the single captures that feeling of craving that breaking point, that moment where you finally are pushed to stop holding yourself back and take the leap you've been waiting for.

Elfeky first broke through with her 2023 single “tonight (demo),” which went viral on TikTok and has since surpassed 45 million streams, introducing her sound to a massive audience. Since then she has continued to establish herself within the alternative scene earning a 2025 nomination for best International Breakthrough Artist at the Heavy Metal Music Awards. Earlier this year, Elfeky also joined Bring Me The Horizon, Motionless In White, and The Plot In You on tour. Now heading to Texas for the Sick New World Festival.

With It Was Only a Dream, arriving so soon, it's clear Amira Elfeky is ready for change and “Breakdown” feels like the first step towards taking that leap.
