Movements Unveils New Single “Separate”

Movements shares their fourth single from their upcoming album “Happier Now,” titled “Separate.” The single shares similarities with the previous three releases “Dissolve Me,” “Back in My Ways” and “Everything Is Fine," all of which dropped earlier this year.
Despite the title of the upcoming album “Happier Now,” each single is built on personal introspection, almost as if the listeners are standing behind a two way mirror, watching someone come to terms with truths they’ve been unable, or unwilling, to admit to themselves. With each release, it feels less like you’re hearing a song and more like you’re sitting in on a therapy session or reading pages pulled from the band's journal.
“Separate” is about a turning point I experienced during the writing of this album," says singer Patrick Miranda. "Between creative friction, internal and intrapersonal struggles, and the weight of needing to create something that felt meaningful, the stress of it all hit me hard. I felt like I had nothing more to offer in that moment. Instead of fighting it, I withdrew. It's about feeling so overwhelmed in life that instead of confronting the issue, you just want to separate entirely from whatever situation is causing it."
As Movements dives deeper into confessional songwriting, they maintain their old sound as much as possible while blending the sounds of their 2023 album “RUCKUS!”. This year's first two singles “Dissolve Me” and “Back in My Ways” played a major part in guiding the recording process. “Seperate” balances their familiar post-hardcare and alternative rock signature while tugging on the heartstrings of listeners. Southern California's post-hardcore band will be hitting the road in October with support from Balance and Composure, Midrift, and NIIS. All dates can be found below.
